Game Description

  • Speak with Minnai
  • Speak with Gilndor

Speak with Minnai Gladesworn and Gilndor Hearthborn about their missing children. Try to convince them to speak with Nepethe Riverborn.

Walkthrough

A novel insight into conjoining the efforts of several folks with differing perspectives to play a greater role in the Mother of the Lost epic series.

Throughout the ages children have gone missing, presumably from supernatural causes as a matter of faith. A faith which is a shield from the inexplicable. Some parents want to know more and have hope for their children's return.

Dialogue

Quest Offering

Nepthe smiles at you lightly and says, "You are probably wondering why a Deacon of the Glade is out of the Glade." You can see her lips quivering. "I do not wish to be here, but I something stronger than my love of the Glade has driven me here."

"My daughter is missing. I am looking for any clues as to where she has gone. I know of at least two children who have gone missing from Tawar Galan, but I cannot convince their parents to speak with me. Please. Ask them just to speak with me."

Minnai Gladesworn

  • You say, "Minnai, may I speak with you?"
  • Minnai glances at you. You are amazed at how hard the woman's expression is. "Yes?" she asks.
  • "I have been made aware that you recently lost a child," you say.
  • Minnai is quiet for a moment. "My son is gone, yes," she says.
  • You shift uncomfortably and say, "Nepethe Riverborn, among others, has experienced a similar loss."
  • "So she told me," says Minnai. "What is your point?"
  • "Nepethe wishes to speak with you about what happened," you say. "Hoping that perhaps the two of you could piece together more details about what happened."
  • Minnai seems to study the ground, then glances back p at you. "I do not think there is any use in speaking about it," she says.
  • "Isn't it worth a chance, though?" you ask. "Isn't it worth trying?"
  • Minnai takes a deep breath and says, "I have grieved for my son. I am done."
  • "Is that what a good mother does? Gives up on her children?" you ask.
  • Minnai's eyes flash in anger. "I cannot spend the rest of my life hurting for him!" she says. "I have other duties. I must go on!"
  • "But there is no proof that he is dead!" you say. "He could be out there, alive, waiting for you to find him."
  • "You are a warrior as well as a mother," you say. "You, of anyone, have a chance, and your son is out there, knowing that, hoping."
  • Minnai growls, "Do not give me false hope! Stop spreading this in me!" She suddenly bursts into tears.
  • "I... apologize," you say.
  • She waves a hand at you, the other covering her eyes. "Just go," she says. "Please."
  • You nod and turn to go, but as you do, she says, "Tell Nepethe I will speak with her."

Gilndor Hearthborn

  • Gildor Hearthborn glances at you and asks, "What do you need?"
  • "I came to speak to you about your child," you say.
  • Gilndor tightens and then relaxes his grip. "I have five children, which do you mean?" (he) asks.
  • "The one that is missing," you say.
  • Gilndor gazes at you silently. ""You mean the three," he says, voice breaking.
  • "I... I'm sorry," you say.
  • Gilndor shaks his head. "Why?" he asks. "My loss means nothing to you."
  • I will not claim to empathize," you say, "but I know one who does."
  • "You mean the Deacon," he says, scoffing.
  • "Yes, Nepethe has lost, as you have lost," you say.
  • "One third of it," says Gilndor harshly.
  • "Nevertheless," you say, "you have both lost, and she is trying to find."
  • Gilndor nods silently. "What do you want?" he asks. "Reminding me of this hurt..."
  • "I ask that you speak with Nepethe," you say, "so that maybe, with your combined knowledge of this problem, you can find its root."
  • "And find your children," you say.
  • Gilndor is silent for a long time. Finally, he says, "Very well. Tell her we can speak."
  • "However, I do not hold out any hope," he says. "I do not dare to."

Quest Completion

(Nepethe) says hopefully, "Have they agreed, then?"

[Continue]

Nepethe looks overwhelmed. "I... I cannot thank you enough," she says. "I just know that our children are alive somewhere, waiting for us. And hopefully with their help, we can find them and bring them home where they belong."
