Quest Offering
"We received an interesting report," says Elder Sal thoughtfully. "Nook, the sorcerer traininer in the Hall of Glyphs, has an apprentice who found a curiously powerful crystal. They were trying to study it to find out more about it when a wood elf intervened. It was explained to them that it was too dangerous to be tampered with, but Nook doubted the sincerity of the messenger."
"He's requested that you help him get to the bottom of this. Go see what you can do for him."
Nook
- "Nook," you say, "I hear the wood elves took a crystal from you."
- "Indeed they did," said Nook, frowning. "From my apprentice Soni, actually."
- "Some of the Wardens of the Moon were experimenting with it," says Nook, "and, well I'll admit she sort of took one."
- "But they hadn't breathed a word of this to us!" says Nook. "Not even to Yehuh, who is supposed to be given the supreme authority over magical matters in Ca'ial Brael."
- "They just don't take us seriously," you say.
- "No, they most certainly do not," says Nook. "They refuse to acknowledge us any authority."
- "Some of us are trying to change that," you say.
- "Oh really?" asks Nook. "How so?"
- "Well," you say, "I had an audience with some of their Wardens about gaining us a presence in the council."
- "Really?" asks Nook. "I supposed they simply tossed you asside..."
- "Iona did," you say, "but Zephiria was surprisingly open to the possibility, thought she told us we would have to prove our case."
- "I see," says Nook.
- "Who was it that took the crystal from Soni?" you ask. "I'd like to talk to them."
- "Maybe there's something key to this crystal they're trying to keep from us," you say.
- "And maybe, if we could discover it, that would help your case!" says Nook excitedly.
- "Precisely my thought," you say.
Quest Completion
"It's entirely possible that this could do nothing for your purposes," says Nook, "but if nothing else, we'll know what they're keeping from us."
"Maybe once we have a presence on the council," mutters Nook, "we won't be kept in the dark on matters like this."
