Dialogue
Quest Offering
"It has come to my attention that the Pyrelords have a foothold upon Telon. They too know well that power is wealth and as such they have a great many treasures in their possession. The Pyrelords also, are notoriously disenchanted by wealth and prefer raw power over the luxuries it can bring."
"Xethamir possesses a relic known as the Moon Chalice. It is a beautiful piece of art that I greatly desire. Xethamir, however, will only part with it in exchange for power. Determine what power he desires."
Xethamir the Despoiler
- You say, "Xethamir, I am <Player>. I bring word from Royal Magnate Rikzik of Sybaris."
- Xethamir the Despoiler rattles threateningly at you, "Forgo the titles and pleasanties, <Player>. The Sybarites matter not to me. Their empire is as weak as their titles are flamboyant."
- "Regardless," you say, "the people of Telon desire wealth - wealth that the Sybarites have. For Telon to fall, we require more than just strength."
- Xethamir the Despoiler laughs. "You are wrong, kurashasa. Your kind simply lack the strength necessary, and so you have turned to alternative means. Strength, inevitably, will decide everything."
- You mention, "Stength can be undermined through more subtle means, and this is what we aim to do."
- Xethamir the Despoiler says, "I have no interest in such pointless mannerisms. You had mentioned the Sybarite worm had sent you to be his errand runner."
- You say, "Magnate Rikzik has expressed a desire for some relics in your possession. He is willing to trade you for them, but since you find little use for luxuries, he as curious what your offer might be."
- Xethamir the Despoiler hisses, "I should have guessed that a sybarite would desire the treasures of those cursed elves."
- You say, "He had mentioned, specifically, a relic called the Moon Chalice."
- Xethamir the Despoiler says, "The names of the treasures are unimportant to me, only the power which they provide."
- You say, "The only power such an art piece provides is that which Magnate Rikzik is willing to exchange."
- Xethamir the Despoiler says, "If he desires this enough to ask me to negotiate then it must be of substantial value."
- You suggest, "I have heard that elven artwork is quite valuable on Telon, perhaps he seek to sell it there."
- Xethamir the Despoiler growls, "Should it return to the hands of the elves then I shall simply recover it from the charred remains of their pathetic kingdom when I happen upon it next."
- You ask, "What is it you request from Magnate Rikzik in exchange for the Moon Chalice?"
- Xethamir the Despoiler says, "A legion of his royal obliterators."
- You almost choke. "That is a substantial request for a piece of artwork."
Quest Completion
"Rikzik's counter offer will reveal much."
Xethamir says, "Eznorax, give me that gold disc..."
Eznorax hands him an ornate plate.
