Game Description

Talk to Ravu and Vole down by the docks about the crossbow Jane Husk purchased. You'll need to speak to Ravu to get through to Vole.

Walkthrough

• Ravu (Arms Trader) is on the beach at /loc -1103, -73505
• Vole (Arms Trader) is right next to Ravu

Chest becomes lootable after they take the pouch of coins from you.

Dialogue

Quest Offering

Jane Husk looks at you appraisingly. "I don't understand how they do business on this backward continent, it seems, cause they sure as Mara don't do business with me. I was wondering if you might help me with that."

"These traders down at the docks got a crossbow I ordered, but they aren't being so willing to give it up as they were when I put down money on it. I can understand why, cause it's the most beautiful piece I ever set eyes on, but that doesn't change that I ordered it fair and square."

Ravu

• You say, "I need to speak with Vole."
• Ranvu looks down his nose at you and asks, "What if Vole doesn't want to talk to you?"
• "I don't think that's going to work," you say.
• Ravu narrows his eyes and asks, "What's this about?"
• You say, "A crossbow."
• Ravu appears unaffected. "What crossbow?" he asks.
• "The crossbow your boss owes Jane Husk," you say.
• Ravu chuckles and says, "Vole doesn't owe anyone anything."
• "Jane says he's got money down on it," you say.
• "Boss doesn't like Jane very much," says Ravu. "I find it hard to believe he'd promise him anything."
• "Just let me talk to him," you say. "Jane's sent this." You gesture to the bag of money.
• Ravu looks at it. A slight glimmer appears in his eyes. "Maybe Vole will want to talk," he says.
• "I thought so," you say.

Vole

• Vole peers at you and asks, "What you looking at?"
• Before you say anything, Vole says, "Am I to understand you're (here) on behalf of for Jane Husk?"
• "He contracted me to talk to you," you say casually.
• Vole chuckles lightly and says, "That Jane. Too afraid to talk to me himself."
• You say, "The way Jane describes it, you aren't overly willing to talk to him."
• Vole smiles innocently and says, "I've not had much luck doing any business with Captain Bene and his crew."
• "Especially Jane Husk," he says.
• "Well, it seems you did some business with him," you say. "Only you aren't coming through."
• "Oh?" asks Vole. "What business is that?"
• "His crossbow," you say.
• "His crossbow, now, is it?" he asks. "Seems its here in my crate." He taps it with his foot.
• "But he put down money on it," you say, "and sent more besides."
• Vole frowns and says, "Let me see it."
• "I think you'll find its a pretty hefty payload," you say. "Don't know how a crossbow could be worth it."
• As Vole takes the bag, he grins and says, "You haven't seen this crossbow."

Quest Completion

Jane Husk grins and says, "So they got my surprise, did they?"

Jane studies the crossbow lovingly and says, "Such a beauty... I think I'll name her Verna."
