Baron Horace Waltman

  • "Baron," you say with a nod. "We need a favor, again."
  • Baron Horace Waltman questions, "And what would that be?"
  • You ask, "I require the local Baron's signature on this deed. And since that's you."
  • Baron Horace Waltman looks the paperwork over. "It's all well and in order, save for the date. You're off by two seasons."
  • You nod. "Yes, sadly a web of bureaucratic red string in New Targonor prevented these documetns from arriving until just now."
  • Baron Horace Waltman says, "And curiously when the Sages Arcan have arrived to examine closely what has been going on at the Tursh Academy. I sense the Tanvagers are trying to pull one over on the Hilthorns.
  • You mention, "The Tanvager signature is indeed on the deed, but I am merely the messenger, I cannot vouch for any unsavory conduct between the lofty noble Houses of New Targonor."
  • Baron Horace Waltman chuckles. "I happen to know that the Hilthorns have been interested in this little Academy for some time. But I will state one thing very clearly." Waltman studies your face.
  • You ask, "What is that my lord?"
  • Baron Horace Waltman says, "If this act of signing the deed over causes some sort of turf war in my town, I will have no qualms with calling down the guard, sswords drawn. We've had enough troubles with magic these days."
  • You reassure the Baron, "Please, check with teh Tanvagers. The last thing I want is more bloodshed."
  • Waltman studies you and nods, "Well and good. I'll sign the document. The Tanvagers can come see me if there is a problem."
  • You nod, handing him the deed. "Very well Baron. Please sign here. Oh, and use gold ink if you would be so noble."
  • Baron Horace Waltman snorts, "Ah yes, of course, of course. Those cursed Thistle's and their color coding."

Lady Blythe Hilthorn

  • You say, "Lady Blythe? I am <Player>. I have brought news from the Academy."
  • Lady Blythe Hilthorn sighs. "What now? I'm a little busy!"
  • You say, "Deeds for the Tursh Academy in the name of the Hilthorns. I thought you might need them seeing as how the Administrator was killed."
  • Lady Blythe Hilthorn raises her brows and looks at the deeds in your hands. She smiles. "Deeds?"
  • You nod. "Yes, the Academy property deeds. Since the Administrator died, they are now Hilthorn property, I assume. I sippose I could ask the Reeve from House Thistle..."
  • "Of course they are Hilthorn property. The deeds say Hilthorn on them, don't they?"
  • You say, "Well, yes, they do. But this seems like a very complex affair. There are some fairly upset individuals in the Academy dorms over the whole thing."
  • Lady Blythe Hilthorn hisses, "Tanvagers..." She perks up, "Well, thank you very much, um, whatever your name was. Well done."
  • You ask, "Did you identify the Administrator?"
  • Lady Blythe Hilthorn seems diestracted. "Who? Oh, yes! Surgin." She laughs fakely. "We'd been worried about him. I guess the worst found him." She sighs.
  • You angle the conversation slightly, "But not so worried to know that he'd acquired the Tursh Academy? You must not have been very close."
  • Lady Blythe Hilthorn looks slightly shocked. "Close? Oh, by Theindal, never. Not Ever! Ew. That's an understatement. We were the opposite of close." She laughs defensively.
  • You rephrase, "I meant that as family you should have been closer to know what one another was up to."
  • Lady Blythe Hilthorn says, "Well, of course we knew he had the deeds. We just were shocked to discover that he'd been out here during the whole affair."

Quest Completion

Lady Blythe Hilthorn studies the deed and says, "Something seems a little odd here. Perhaps we can shed some light on this with some careful questioning."

She takes the deed from you and says, "In the meantime, I'll make sure to keep these safe; wouldn't want Tanvager snagging them to steal their Academy back." As she takes the deed from you, a small corner tears off, you quickly hide it in your pocket so as to avoid any notice.

"I do have my doubts of Surgin's self motivations."
