• Find the Assassin from Rache Weaver
• Incite Darien von Goshen to Create a Distraction
• Switch the Assassin's Orders

Walkthrough

• Rache Weaver can be found in Thieves Row (House Vermach), /loc -44541, 18183, 36496 in New Targonor (-27, 24). He's inside the building at the end of the dead-end street. Note: Rache Weaver sometimes disappears. Using "/targetauto Rache" will target him, allowing you to Hail him.
• Darien von Goshen is the bard in the Tooth and Nail Tavern, Adventurer's Terrace (House Shrike), /loc -37049, 14863, 36096 in New Targonor (-27, 24).
• The orders you need to switch are located near the wall behind the bar. Click them to complete the switch.
• Jen Pentago can be found in the Foreign Goods Market (New Horizons Trading Group), /loc -42763, 47784, 36498 in New Targonor (-27, 24). He's in the door behind Guard Max and his dog Sam.

Dialogue

Quest Offering

You say, "Hail, Jenia Remniol."

Thinking to yourself, you realize that an assassin in the capital will be more dangerous than even a shipment of the cursed bread. The assassin probably carries the bow and the Heartseeker arrows, making death almost assured.

Remembering rumors you've heard, you know that House Vermach deals in these sorts of dark matters. It would be wise to see what Regent Weaver has to say about the situation.

Rache Weaver

• "Regent Weaver," you say, "I need your help in an area you may be most familiar with."
• "And what area is that, <yourname>?" he asks.
• "I understand your house is adept at eliminating threats quietly," you say.
• "What does that have to do with me?" he says.
• "There is an assassin currently in the city. They have vulmane Heartseeker arrows that I know about, and a special bow."
• "Ah yes, her," he says. "We've known about her for quite some time now. The bow is special indeed. An elven bow of some reknown I believe."
• "Yes, that's her," you say. "I need to stop her."
• "Well, as she is unsanctioned," he says, "I have no qualms with you stopping her, but I doubt you could. Now, misleading her would be a better idea."
• "That sounds more interesting," you say. "What do you have in mind."
• "I know for a fact that her orders are being held by Carmine at the Tooth and Nail tavern in House Shrike's district. If she hasn't picked them up, I would recommend doing something with that."
• "Such as switching the target to Jenia," you finish. "Thank you, Regent."
• "My pleasure," he says. "I do so hate independent operators in my city."

Darien von Goshen

• You notice that Darien von Goshen appears quite drunk, and staring wistfully in the distance.
• "What is the matter Darien?" you ask.
• "I have a love," he says, darkly, "but I dare not say it's name."
• "Why not?" you ask.
• "It will only end in tragedy," he says. "A tale of woe it will be."
• "But do you not believe in a hero prevailing?" you ask.
• "Of course I do," he says, now looking at you. "I am a bard, I tell the stories of the world, both good and bad."
• "And do any of them, when dealing with love, end well?" you ask.
• "Plenty of them," he says. "What are you getting at?"
• "You are a bard, you said so yourself. How do you know this is a tale meant for tragedy and not romance?"
• "Well I don't suppose I do," he says.
• "Then stand up, man," you say. "Proclaim your love now, or else you'll be drinking away your tears until your gray."
• "You're right," he says, fire filling his eyes. "Carmine must know how I feel about her. And she won't quiet me down this time!"

Carmine says, "Please, Darien, please. Not again. I understand your feelings just fine."

Carmine chuckles. "Darien, the only reason you I let you stay is because you are at least entertaining."

Carmine says, "There's no quieting him now."

Quest Completion

"You have returned," Jan says. "I see that maybe Jenia was not as dangerous as I once believed."

"I don't agree with your methods," he says, "but it is not my place to say. I asked you to help and you did. Besides, with Jenia out of the way, the Onyx Hand will be scrambling about for a while to put together what went wrong and who broke their vow of secrecy."

"Thank you, <name>," he says. "You have done a good thing here."
