Speak to the Captain at Greencopper Tower then return to War Master Trabrand Silvereye.

Walkthrough

• Captain Zaelmia can be found at the top of Greencopper Tower outside the city, /loc 72509, -18824, 87980 in Bordinar's Cleft (-28, 26).
• Defender Athar can be found inside Greencopper Tower outside the city, /loc 72240, -18318, 86112 in Bordinar's Cleft (-28, 26).

Quest Offering

You say, "Hail, War Master Trabrand Silvereye." "It is no secret we've been experiencing trouble with kobolds. The pests have been harassing us for decades. The raiding tactics they use have been a particular thorn in our side."

"We have a tower just outside the city where kobold activity has been high in the past. I want you to speak with the captain there and see if a shipment may have been waylaid out there."

Dialogue

Captain Zaelmia

• "What can I do for you, Lesser Giant?" Captain Zaelmia asks.
• "I've come on behalf of War Master Trabrand," you say. "I'm here to investigate the missing food shipments."
• "Ah," she says, nodding. "I don't know how I can help you with that."
• "He sent me out here to look into the kobold situation," you say.
• "That situation," she says, "is being handled. What about it do you need to know?"
• "Have there been any shipments that have been stopped, or burned? Intercepted?"
• "Not to my knowledge," she says.
• "I'll be lunt, you say. "You seem like you're hiding something. I need to know everything if I'm going to get the city fed. Have you been hoarding food?"
• "No," she says, shaking her head. "I don't know much, because I haven't been out on patrol in three months."
• "Why?" you ask. "Has it been that quiet out here?"
• (missing text) I've, basically, been relegated to a noncombat position. It takes so much to keep our operation running here, I never get any time to go out."
• "And why is this a problem?"
• "I'm still receiving combat rations," she says.
• "Ah," you say, nodding. "Well, if you can direct me to someone more knoeledgeable, I'll be able to keep this quiet."
• "Thank you," she says. "Speak with Defender Althar. He has handled a few attacks personally."

Defender Athar

• "Defender," you say, "I've got some questions for you."
• "I've got no time to chat, Lesser Giant," he says. "I'm to set out on a patrol soon."
• "I need some information from you," you say. "I've been sent by War Master Trabrand."
• At the name, Athar stands up at attention. "What does the War Master need?" he asks, looking past you.
• "I need to know if you've seen any kobolds stealing shipments of food up from Rindol Field."
• "I have seen bandits," he says. "But they were not stealing the food. They were more interested in destroying it."
• "Really?" you say. "So you have seen these shipments destroyed?"
• "I have," he says. "It seems like a small siege here. They destroy the food without taking anything. But they aren't kobolds."
• "What are they?" you ask, puzzled.
• "Humans," he says.
• "Humans?" you ask, amazed. "Why would they be destroying the food? You are all on the same side."
• "That's right, which is why I was confused," he says. "I caught one by the tabard once, tore a piece off before he could get away."
• "What did you find? you ask.
• "I've traveled some," he says. "I've seen the same bandits plaguing the hills around Three Rivers before, though I hadn't seen them this far west until recently."
• "That is very interesting," you say. "That you for your time, Defender. I'll pass on a good word about you to the War Master."

Quest Completion

"Ah yes, Athar Stoneheart. I know him well. So, he says humans are stopping the shipments out of Rindol Field?"

"This problem goes deeper than I thought," War Master Trabrand says. "I had hoped that it might be something as simple as a clerical error, or at least some hungry dwarves hoarding food. That would have been unfortunate, but something I could deal with directly."

"I will need someone to investigate this further. My reach only extends so far. How do you feel about traveling?
