Quest Offering
- Egata says, "Our last reports say that Musai was seen traveling in the direction of naemsog bunker." She brightens. "That's perfect! We have received some reports that the amount of goods passing through Naemsog has plummeted recently, and we need someone to talk to the Low Constable about it."
- "How would you like that job? Travel to Naemsog bunker to find out what they might know about Musai, as well as this trade problem we're having. Iradun Earp and Low Constable Tiprey are who you'll want to see."
Iradun Earp
- You say, "Iradun, greetings!'
- "Iradun nods smartly to you and says, "Hello there! What can I do for you?"
- "I am here in pursuit of a gnome named Musai," you say, "do you know him?"
- She looks thoughtful and says. "I... think I may have met him once."
- "He used to be stationed in the Skyside Bunker outside of Mekalia," you say.
- "Oh!" she says brightly. "Yes, I have met him. You say you are pursuing him, why?"
- "He may be under the influence of some unsavory group," you say. "He was seen performing incantations in a dark robe and has a jackal tattooed on his neck."
- She blinks, pales, and murmurs, "A jackal?"
- You nod and ask, "Do you know anything about that?"
- She looks distressed as she says, "I... I... have not been influenced by them in any way! But..."
- "But?" you ask.
- "I encountered a group of them... in some nearby ruins, a few days ago," she says. "They tried to recruit me, detailing their perverse rhetoric. I refused to join, though i was sure it would mean my life."
- "And yet you still live?" you ask.
- She nods and says, "They let me go. I can only presume they want people to know who they are, and to fear them. they worship 'the jackal' and mean to bring the world to an end by turning us all against one another and letting things collapse."
- You frown and nod, saying, "If mosui has become a part of them..."
- "Then he is lost," she says quietly. there is a moment of silence. "I have not seen him pass through here... but as I said, their group did. He may have met up with them somewhere nearby."
- "Also," she says, eyes wide, glancing around. "Zhila Mahdavi-kia, the new wife of the Sultan of Ahgram, passed through here around the same time. I couldn't be sure... but there was an individual at the ritual that night who cut a very similar figure to hers."
- Iradun Finishes and says, "I have no proof that she was involved, and i hope it wasn't her... but if it was, they may be in a position of unspeakable power and potential."
Low Constable Tiprey Octunoc
- You say, "Low Constable Tiprey Octunoc, do you have time to speak with me?"
- He nods to you and says. "I can spare a few minutes."
- You say, "Thank you... I came here in pursuit of a gnome named Musai, but Iradun has not seen him, have you? He would be wearing a black and red robe, and have a tattoo of a jackal on his neck."
- He shakes his head. "I do not know him, nor have I seen anyone like that."
- "Ah," you say, "he seems to be part of some cult that worships a jackal. I take it you have not seen any of their members then?"
- "I admit, i do not venture out of this bunker often. I have too many affairs to administer to here."
- You nod and say, "Then maybe you know something about the lack of overland trade here on Qalia? Mekalia is concerned over it. Perhaps you've heard something from Khal?"
- He frowns and says, "I may have heard something about that..."
- "Oh?" you ask. ""What was that?"
- "Representatives from Khal were gloating about the increase in water trade," Low Constable Tiprey Octunoc says, "and I told them 'Well, that's all well and good, but without land trade, many people will not get what they need.'"
- "They stopped gloating for a moment and assured me that we would always be well stocked here," he says. "They would see to it."
- "The odd thing was what followed. To that I said 'Why should we worry about ourselves? We're here on the river. It's the others I worry about.' then they got an oddly humored look in their eye and just told me that everything would be find." He snorts. "Do you know what it means to be placated?"
- You nod and say, "I do, yes."
- "Well, I don't like to be placated," he says. "I like people to be upfront and honest with me, and those two certainly were not. It didn't sit well. Not well at all."
- You say, "Zhila Mahdavi-Kia, the new wife of the Sultan, may have some connections to this Cult. She is originally from Khal."
- He frowns and says, "Ties between a wife of the Sultan... a vile cult trying to steal out constables... suspicious behavior from Khal... all simultaneous with a decrease in trade. This stinks of something rotten."
Quest Completion
- The Low Constable says, "Overland trade is important to the whole continent. We gnomes want to see it open and free as much as anyone else."
- He frowns and says, "If Jhal has anything to do with this apparent growing lack of it, trust me, Mekalia will not be happy."
- If Khal truly wanted to bring an end [to] overland trade, what would they need to do?" you ask.
- Tiprey's eyes widen and he says, "The Beacons."
